R. Creighton Shumway, PA-C

R. Creighton Shumway, PA-C, CAQ-Psych, joined our team in 2023 as a Physician Assistant in Behavioral Health. He received his Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies from Idaho State University in 2018. Creighton graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology and minors in Chemistry and Neuroscience.

Creighton formerly worked for the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare’s Division of Behavioral Health, where he helped assess, diagnose, and treat psychiatric conditions through pharmacologic, lifestyle, and interdisciplinary approaches. Creighton believes in taking an evidence based approach to Behavioral Health, and in tailoring a treatment plan fits the client’s lifestyle and honors their values. In 2021 Creighton obtained additional credentialing in Psychiatry (CAQ-Psych) as a sign of competency and advanced expertise in the specialty.

Prior to becoming a PA, Creighton worked and volunteered in other areas of medicine such as professional ski patrol, CNA, psychiatric technician and camp counselor for the Foundation for Children and Youth with Diabetes Camp.

Creighton grew up near the mountains in Pleasant View, Utah. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, climbing, skiing, canyoneering, reading and listening to a variety of music.
