Leif Sorensen, LCSW, is an Idaho native. Born and raised in South Eastern Idaho, he moved to the Upper Valley in 1994 with his family and has called the area home ever since. Leif has provided mental health service in several different capacities since coming here, including outpatient, inpatient, psychosocial rehabilitation, case management, groups, military, and corrections.
Leif Sorensen is a retired veteran and served in Iraq as a Behavior Health Officer for a Heavy Combat Brigade, and specialized in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress and other trauma related issues. He has utilized the most effective treatments for trauma recovery, including Prolonged Exposure (PE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Image Replacement and Rescripting Therapy (IRRT).
Leif is also experienced with treating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, pornography addiction, and other common challenges. Leif says, “I have a profound belief that every human spirit can overcome and heal from unimaginable odds. I believe you have it in you to heal and reach your goals and live life to its fullest. I believe in providing a safe and non-judgemental environment where a pathway for healing can be achieved.”
