Kavi Branham joined the Grand Peaks Behavioral Health and Wellness team in August of 2020. He has been involved with behavioral health for over 11 years, providing case management and youth mentoring services, wraparound counseling, and as a Licensed Professional Counselor for the past 5 years. Kavi has a degree in Advanced Clinical Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University. He is a certified Positive Discipline Parenting facilitator and has trained suicide prevention classes such as Youth Mental Health First Aid and the Jason Foundation.
Kavi Branham specializes in trauma therapy and is trained in EMDR from an EMDRIA-approved training program. EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a well-researched approach that evidences long-term relief and healing from trauma and can be achieved in a relatively short time period. He also utilizes EMDR therapy for recent trauma (RTEP) and group trauma (GTEP).
Kavi has counseling experience with children, adolescents, adults, and couples working with the following challenges/issues: depression, anxiety, mood disorders, panic attacks, stress, anger management, grief and loss, trauma/PTSD, sexual abuse, ADHD, pornography addiction, parenting, relational issues, and communication issues. In addition to EMDR, Kavi utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Mindfulness.
Kavi was born and raised in the rural lakes and forests of northern Wisconsin came to Idaho for college in 2004, and has never left. He and his wife have 4 children and enjoy the beauty, connectedness, safety and calm southeast Idaho has to offer. Kavi enjoys running, camping, reading, sports, baking, and making memories with his family.
