Jacob Nelson, DO, Pediatrician

Originally from Orem, Utah, Jacob Nelson has been a practicing pediatrician since he graduated from his residency in 2019. He served four years in the United States Air Force stationed at Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX, where he cared for the children of active-duty military families. Jacob separated from the USAF as a Major in 2023 and moved to Rexburg, Idaho, where he has worked as a general pediatrician, as well as spending 9 months in Oklahoma working for the Chickasaw Nation as a locums pediatrician. Before he became a doctor, he worked in sales for five years, worked as a Norwegian teacher, and worked as a CNA at a children’s hospital.

He has always been fascinated by the medical field and loves to embrace new knowledge everywhere he goes. He views himself as a big kid at heart, which is part of why he enjoys working with children and families so much. He appreciates the chance to help them create optimal environments where they heal and thrive. Jacob wants his patients to know that they are worthy of everything that this beautiful life has to offer.

When he is not working, he loves exercising, from weight training to hiking to rucking to yoga. He also likes board games, movie nights, disc golf, and any chance he can get to spend time with his wonderful family.
